Sara Cookson

"I have had a passion for animals my whole life and that passion became focused towards cats during my college years with the addition of my first cat, Phedre.  Over the years I have adopted a few cats and fostered many others.  I have been working in the animal sheltering industry for about five years as either a shelter employee or a volunteer.  Currently I am the team lead for the Cat Behavior Team at Austin Pets Alive.  I have decided to focus my education towards the study of cat behavior as well and graduated with a diploma of Feline Behavior Science and Technology from the Companion Animal Sciences Institute.  

My home is filled with plenty of furry babies and currently houses a large mastiff mix dog, four cats of varying ages, two rats, and a turtle.  We spent years fostering cats as well and usually have had one medical foster or hospice foster in the home.
